CIO South Africa community manager Hlubi Sonjica says this world-class event will build on the successes of the Finance Indaba and HR Indaba but will have its own unique identity for technology professionals.
On 15 October 2025, the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg will come alive with a new kind of energy – IT professionals from across Africa will storm the venue to participate in the first-ever IT Indaba.
The third annual professional Indaba conceptualised and organised by professional community builders Executive Communities, the IT Indaba promises to be an event like no other for IT professionals. While attendees will be shown the same levels of quality programming, knowledge sharing and networking as the other Indabas, they will be treated to event-specific content and partners to expand their professional horizons.
“Having supported the HR Indaba and the Finance Indaba in the past, I am beyond excited about bringing the IT Indaba to a network of IT professionals,” says Nomahlubi Sonjica, community manager for CIO South Africa, which runs the event. “There’s just no matching the levels of engagement, impact, and education that an Indaba like this offers. But we’re looking forward to building this event’s own identity to serve IT professionals – who are increasingly becoming the backbone of modern organisations.”
For partners, the IT Indaba offers unprecedented engagement with IT professionals, who are eager to learn about new products and solutions. There are four levels of partnership: Diamond, Platinum, Gold and Silver, each with different benefits and visibility. A Diamond Partner slot has already been snapped up by BEE Level 1 digital technologies company Makwa IT.
“We know that Indabas provide an opportunity like no other for businesses to showcase their brands, and engage directly with the decision-makers who will be purchasing and using their solutions,” says Nick Smith, Head of Sales at Executive Communities. “The Indaba will host a vibrant expo hall full of partners making connections with the thousands of IT professionals who will join us on the day. Meanwhile, a full programme of presentations and panel discussions deliver the ultimate opportunity to get your message across to the right people!”
