It’s the one time in the year Executive Communities partners get four high-energy minutes to sell their idea or product to a room full of executives. Executive Communities’ youngest community arrives on the scene with the largest number of attendees for any launch in the organisation’s history.

Growth and engagement are the watchwords as Rwanda’s IT and Finance high-fliers get stuck into community-engagement at the chapter launch of CITO East Africa community, and the second annual CFO East Africa Summit in that country. Testimony to business growth in the region and a sustained engagement by the Executives Communities team with the spectrum of business leadership in the province, the events were a resounding success.
Two internships have been created in the organisation to deliver workplace skills and experience to young people at the start of their careers. Nick started in sales in CFO South Africa, moved to CHRO South Africa, hopped over to CIO South Africa, and now heads up sales for the whole country. CFO South Africa, CHRO South Africa and CIO South Africa hosted three dinners in Johannesburg, where executives had the opportunity to tackle the biggest issues facing their businesses.
The Executive Communities East African calendar kicked-off with two back-to-back events in Nairobi – the CFO Leadership Summit and the CITO Future-Ready Summit. Three events this month in the Mother City were brim-full of mind-broadening creative thinking and innovative solutions as executives tackled prickly problems in their industries.

On 2 December 2025, Executive Communities officially launched CITO East Africa. Over 70 top executives gathered at the Emara Ole Sereni in Nairobi to mark the first-ever event for this community.
Over 300 executives attended the inaugural “Oscars of Finance” in Nairobi and bore witness to a dazzling celebration of professional excellence. November is a month of celebration at Executive Communities, as the organisation hosts the CFO Awards, the CHRO Awards and the CIO Awards, recognising the most impactful leaders in finance, human resources and information technology in South Africa. Executive Communities’ latest community – CITO East Africa – will be officially launching on 2 December. The programme and lineup has been released ahead of this auspicious event. Executives from Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya highlighted the critical role they play in driving strategy across diverse industries.

Executive Communities director KC Rottok Chesaina has announced the launch of CHRO East Africa, with the team currently holding insightful conversations with HR leaders across the region. She started out as a lawyer, but then pursued her dream of becoming a journalist. Now Muriel celebrates the power of storytelling in her role at Executive Communities. Titled “mastering the art of impact in times of change”, the Executive Communities Women’s Dinner provided an ideal opportunity for networking, engagement and growth. More than 75 IT executives from across Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda are expected to gather at the much-anticipated kick-off of their community, says CITO East Africa community manager Sandra Mulluka.

Now the marketing manager supporting three communities, Vaphi is proud to have been entrusted with such responsibility. CFO Day, CHRO Day and CIO Day bring together leading South African executives to tackle the most pressing issues in their respective spaces – and to learn where synergy exists between the three types of leadership. Two CFO summits – one in Uganda and the other in Tanzania – offered powerful engagement opportunities for finance leaders. Executives attended in droves, and gave feedback that indicated their need for and support of the CFO East Africa community. “Collaboration is necessary for economic growth” says Old Mutual’s Lindiwe Sebesho, MD of Remchannel, – who believes that partnering with the CHRO South Africa community has improved the quality of her business’s interactions with CHROs. CIO South Africa community manager Hlubi Sonjica says this world-class event will build on the successes of the Finance Indaba and HR Indaba but will have its own unique identity for technology professionals. The CFOs looked “beyond finance”, the CHROs tackled “radical inclusion” and the CIOs were treated to unpacking the “transformation of legacy systems”. Executive Communities, the parent company of CFO South Africa, CHRO South Africa and CIO South Africa, has created two exciting internship opportunities for recent graduates seeking work experience.
